About Deena
Together with her husband Yehoshua founder/ director of KYD, and a staff of almost 90, Deena takes care of over 300 children who consider KYD their home. These children have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect at a very young age. At KYD they are respected and cared for by dedicated staff, they are given hot meals, help with homework, therapy and tools for the future. It is with friends from Canada and all over the world that KYD is able to continue taking care of these sweet children who were born into misfortune.

Why we love Deena
Deena Weingarten is our friend. She’s much more than a friend to us but she leads with kindness, warmth and compassion for anyone she cares about. She has inspired us in unique ways because of her devotion to KYD. Deena works tirelessly to help children who are homeless or living in impoverished homes. Her passion and dedication is unending. Year after year she is there with her husband and her team feeding, loving, caring for youth at risk. It is with great love and great respect that we Spotlight Deena, an incredibly beautiful person in our lives.
