Why I chose to support Canadian Cancer Society
"I chose Canadian Cancer Society because my biggest wish is to see cancer eradicated. When my grandmother (my mom's mom) was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in May 2014, right until her death in October 2015, and even now - I saw the effect this disease has on the person who gets it, and on that person's whole family. I don't want anyone to go through this. My mom had to fly often to be with her mom, and she would tell me stories of how many people are afflicted with cancer, even little babies and toddlers! It just broke my heart. When I grow up, I will work towards eradicating cancer. Until then, I will do what I can."
Why I chose my gift(s)
I love reading, both French and English books. However, from this money, I have bought only one book. The rest of the money is going towards Canadian Cancer Society again, through the fundraiser page I set up in spring 2016, with a target of $1000, which I have almost reached. (My mom couldn't fit that in within the space allotted for what the birthday child gets!)"
