A Path from Instability to Independence

Ve’ahavta is a social service agency offering high-impact programs for people at risk of homelessness, helping them move from instability to self-sufficiency. Our programs fill a service gap by providing access to supplies and services needed while experiencing homelessness and creating a path focused on the whole person to develop the skills and self-confidence necessary for re-entry to the workforce. At Ve’ahavta, the Jewish ethics of justice, kindness, and responsibility move from guiding principles into tangible actions. Through our social service programs, we address the longstanding societal problem of local poverty and homelessness while simultaneously mobilizing volunteers to act and make a difference. At Ve’ahavta these principles of Judaism come alive in a uniquely Canadian way – inclusive of all backgrounds and built on the belief that when we all come together with purpose, we can solve even the largest of society’s challenges. Ve’ahavta’s programs create a path for people affected by poverty to progress toward achieving their goals. This encompasses three key elements to break the poverty cycle while building meaning and purpose in the lives of those we serve.
